Oh I've had Enough of Girls Camp Life, Gee Mom I'm Glad to Be Home

This week was girls camp. Not only that, but this year was the forth year hike. The hike started out easy not to hard, I got a blister but it was treated quickly so no big deal. But then it started to get a little hilly and a little more difficult. There were points when the path was hard to see and the ground was either rocky and rooty or muddy, but at lest it wasn't raining so it wasn't to muddy. On the hike there is one really hard hill each day, and on the first day it is a down hill. I know that most down hills are easy but this one was steep with rocks that slide under your feet when you step on them. I was grabbing every tree along the path in able to stabilize my self. One of the trees that I grabbed was a dead sapling that broke off from the ground in my hand and became my walking stick for the rest of the hike. It was a good stick and I am so glade I brought it with me. then we got to the camp ground which was really pretty. I played in the river and it was a lot of fun. The next day we only had 4 miles to hike, but one of those miles was Death Hill. Death Hill is really hard. It's not about how steep the hill was it was the fact that it was crazy long and a continual upward slop. Once or twice I thought that if only I didn't have my heavy pack I could make it so much easier. I also keep thinking That "I was in the poppy field" of the hike. Well finally I made it up the hill. I was way happy. We got a nice long break before we did the last mile. The last mile, thankfully enough, was flat ground with one small down hill. I was pump to have done it. I finished death hill. I was so proud. I wished that there was something substantial to put me apart from the other years who hadn't finished a 10 mile hike. The rest of camp past by fast. mostly it was hanging out with my friends. I realized that I had a lot of friends at camp. I had my cabin mates. from left to right they are Kim, Celea, and Emily. I also had a lot of other friends who weren't in my year, like Celine, and Genevieve, third years, and Brenna, who was a second year. Camp was really fun I loved hanging out with my friends from other wards. However it was exhausting and as the title of this blog suggest I am glade to be home.

Romance Makes Me Squeal

When mom got home today she informed me that she had bought the movie "Beauty and the Beast, A Latter-Day Tale". For those of you who don't know, that is a REALLY good lds movie about a girl named Bell who comes to work for Eric Landery. He is considered to be the meanest most proud man in the town by all his neighbours. He is a very brash man but as he gets to know Bell he becomes less and less rude. It is a really good romance movie with great acting. It was so good that I all most squealed with excitement as I watched it. I would highly recommend it to all who are considering watching it.

Fun Run

Over all, today was a very good day. In History I found out that I got the highest score on or last test, 104%, and in art we sat out side in a field of clovers drawing the school building. I thoroughly enjoyed it. However I have been looking forward to today for a different reason.

Today was my wards "Fun Run". That is were you have to go four miles in an hour in order to qualify for trek.

I walked/ran the four miles with Genvieve Gurts. I think that was a good choice, because we both pushed the other on and motivated them. We started out strong we were walking quickly up hills and on flat parts, and we were running down the hills. It was a hot day but we were on track and we were confident that we would finish on time.

Then near the end of the first lap, there were two, we both got tired and I was wondering if we would be able to finish at all, let alone on time. we were going very slowly and we just couldn't seem to pick up speed. Then we got back to the starting line were Sister Lee was waiting to do the last lap with the last of the runners. We weren't the last to get there but we were the last to leave.

Sister Lee set a pace that if we could keep up with we would finish on time. Gen, Maria, and I walked with her for some time. There was a watch that says how fast you were going so we knew we were going to finish on time based on our pace. This knowledge gave me a second wind. I started to sing the walking chant that Gen and I had come up with a few weeks ago. It gose like this...

Pump those arms
Lift them high
box your ears,
and punch the sky

That set a good pace and Gen Maria and I pulled ahead of Sister Lee. It was good to know that we were doing a good job, and I was happy with our pace. we reached a point were we know that the end was coming soon but because of a bend in the road we could not see the finish line. that's when Gens older sister came along to motive us. She knew that the one hour dead line was coming up and she was worried that we wouldn't make it in time so she tried to get us to up the pace. I knew however that as long as we stayed ahead of Sister Lee we would finish on time.

Well guess what we finished on at 58 minutes and 49 seconds to go. Gen and I were both red faced from the excercise and very glad that we finnished. we convincesed her dad and my mom to go to Ritas after words. it was great.

PS Sister Lee finished with 18 seconds to go.

Good Friends

There are some people you just love.

You can talk freely with them and you feel comfortable telling them things because they will listen and they will not judge you.

There is something about them that just makes you happy to listen because of the wonderful stories they tell.

There are some people who even though you have only known them for about a month, you already consider them one of your best friends.

You find yourself trying to find things that they would be interested in so you can share the excitement of discovery.

You know that they are loyal and they would never hurt you.

You know they trust you completely.

There are some people in this world who make you smile just by them being by your side.

Five Stars

So do to the fact that I forgot my G-Mail password I haven't been able to blog or read blogs for awhile now. A lot has happened and I'm glad I can get on my blog again.

Yesterday was my BFF's sweet sixteen. Her party is going to be next Friday so she didn't make a big deal about it yesterday, but she did invite me over for cake and a movie. When we got there we mostly just lazed around until dinner like we always do. Then we saw what her dog had done to her cake. He had gone up to the cake and licked the frosting off of one side. It was only a small part of the cake so we just cut it off, but it was still funny.

Now it was time for the movie. we went to see Up in 3-D, and let me tell you it was wonderful. I it makes you laugh it makes you cry, and over all it is beautifully animated.

Up is about an old man who blows up so many balloons that his house starts to floats and he flies it to South America. However unbeknownst to him a wilderness explore, aka boy scout, was under his porch looking for a bird.

The movie starts out when the old man was young. He is watching a movie about his favorite explorer. then he goes and meets a girl who also loves that explorer. They promise to go to Paradise Falls South America together. Then it shows there life together. They get married and grow old together all the while saving to go to Paradise Falls. The man finally buys the tickets but his wife gets sick and dies.

That is all that I am going to tell you about what happens in the movie, because I think you should go see it your self. What I Told you may seem sad but that was just the opening scene. The movie ends on a high note, and remember I told you the movie will make you laugh and make you cry.

You need to see this movie. I give it five stars.

I have never been much for exercise. I feel uncomfortable excrecicing in front of others and I have always enjoyed a good book more then a jog around the block. In the past all the exercises that I would get was what I would get in PE class. OK. That is a large exaggeration, but the principle is the same.

However, that is going to change.

Yesterday I went to Young woman's and Maggie's mom was teaching the class. The class was about the benefits of exercises. I was inspired. I have resolved to try and exercises every day for 15 minuets a day for at lest a month. I think I can do it. In fact I have already finessed my first day. I walked/jogged for 15 minuets and went .8 of a mile. If I keep this up I'll be in shape for trek in no time.

Long Time No Blog.

Its been a long time since I last posted a blog. Its not that nothing has happened it is just that ether I haven't had the time or I forgot or something. That is going to change. I am going to try to post at least once a week from now on. The reason for this sudden change is because I was talking to my young women leader about my blog, and she said that it could count towards my personal progress. Lately dad has been trying to get me to work on finishing the personal progress program so that's what I am going to do. I don't know how long its going to take but I am determined to finish.
